Letter To Editor

by Gary N-Ski on May 19, 2011

Here’s a recent letter I sent to the editor of the Poynette Press. He wrote a piece looking for a pheasant image for the redesign of the newspapers masthead.  But of course the only compensation would be the “Satisfaction” of seeing your image in his paper.

I'm not FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

James,
I was forwarded your piece concerning replacing the pheasant logo on the Poynette Press’s masthead. I always love it when publishers/editors offer to use photographers work by compensating them with the currency of “Satisfaction of Seeing Their Work in Print” or even better is the currency of the “Photo Credit”. Neither form of currency can be exchanged at your local bank for a “Mortgage Credit” however. I may be wrong, but that pheasant logo killing consultant you encountered in March was probably not simply compensated for his advise by the “Satisfaction” of being in the room with all the editors from the Hometown News Group. Please find attached a couple pheasant images that could be purchased with a little more than in the immortal words of the Rolling Stones, “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction”
